Brain Teasing

Few things are as appealing to a gifted child as an intellectual challenge. It's surely why so many gifted kids love puzzles. They love working out solutions. With jigsaw puzzles, kids have to match the shapes and colors to get the pieces to fit together.

Another type of puzzle, though, is the brain teaser.  There are different types of brain teasers.  Some are paper and pencil tasks. And some are held and manipulated to be solved, like Rubik's Cube. Few people these days are unfamiliar with that puzzle cube, but not many know about other manipulative brain teasers.

January 29th is National Puzzle Day. Get a couple of these brain teasers for your child to celebrate the day. Not only will your child's brain get a good workout, you just might get him away from some of his digital toys!
