Draw a Picture of a Bird Day

Today is Draw a Picture of a Bird Day. It's the perfect day for taking a nature walk and observing nature. What better way to observe than to draw a picture of a bird?  Of course, birds aren't usually willing to stay put and pose for a portrait!  Don't worry, though, you can take your camera with you and take some photos.  The kids can later use the photos as models for their drawings.  The birds in the photos aren't going to fly away! 

If your child is too young to draw pictures of birds (that aren't perfect), you can still use the day to focus on birds.  All you have to do is download some of the many bird-themed coloring pages on the coloring.ws Web site.
