Stephanie, over in the gifted kids forum had this to say:
"I think it can be quite normal for a gifted child to feel unsure in social situations as they are often dealing with emotions and feelings beyond their years. My issue with some daycare and preschool is that if your child doesn't fit a mold then something is wrong when in reality maybe they should consider changing their approach with the child."
I couldn't agree more. It reminds me of something someone once told me. If your child is sitting on a nest of snakes and is wiggling and squirming and crying, do you try to figure out how to make him stop wiggling, squirming, and crying, or do you try to get rid of the snakes. If getting rid of the snakes doesn't work, just take your child out of that nest.
What do you think?

I saw your blog, and you seem to be very well versed in the area of gifted children. I was hoping you could help send me in the right direction. I have a four year old boy who I believe may be gifted. How do I officially get that label or diagnosis? What doctor is the best to go to? Or, should I wait until he is older? Please help in guiding….
Thank you very much!
