How should you nurture the abilities of your gifted child? The best answer to that question is to provide as many enrichment experiences as you can. One thing you can do is go on nature walks. You can take those walks around the neighborhood, paying attention to the flowers, shrubs, and trees. You can also look at the birds and even the bugs. Gifted children love to explore and puzzle things out, so you can ask your child about the shapes of the leaves on different plants or the petals on the different flowers. Why are flowers so colorful? Why do they smell so good? There are plenty of questions you can ask. Be creative! And don't worry if you don't know the answers. You can make a note of the questions and then plan a visit to the library to find the answers.
